Nerdosaurus Rex

Nerdosaurus.com was born on 10 July 2011, registered at NameCheap.com. I really (really) didn’t need another domain, but NC was running a $1.99-for-the-first-year-if-you-like-us-on-Facebook promotion I just couldn’t pass up. Given that I still had (and have) credit left over from the Twitter contest they held in December 2010, I really couldn’t pass up a free-at-a-discount domain, could I? I intially registered NerdMonster.org (see below), but as I was writing this page and listing some of my more interesting monikers, I recalled “nerdosaurus” and decided on that instead.

The name, “Nerdosaurus,” is nothing more than something people seem to enjoy calling me. I’ve also been called a nerd monster, dorkapillar, geekopotamus… yes indeed, I have some creative friends. Nickname aside, I do identify as a nerd (and a geek, though I’m not quite socially inept enough to qualify as a dork), and I have a fondness for dinosaurs (especially velociraptors).

Nerdosaurus.com is the latest in a series of domains I’ve owned, tinkered with, forgotten, and eventually abandoned. (You can read an abridged tale of my blogging history here.) Previous domains I’ve owned at some point include 12hours.us, Aeval.net, Afterlithe.net, Army-Girl.org (which became a porn site after I’d let the domain expire), AndRobots.net, Apt26.net, Astarae.net, BlueSunday.info, Clockworked.org, DeathBell.org, Domigasm.net, Elvea.org, Flickerstarr.net, GirlFixed.org, LustSick.org, OhPoison.org, PaintBoxes.org, Sortia.us, Vintaged.net, Winterfilth.net, Wintry.org, AndRobots.org. My most recent personal domain was Winterish.net, which has now replaced Nerdish.me as my site collective.

Nerdosaurus.com is hosted by Stable Host, whom I highly, highly recommend. The site is powered entirely by WordPress 3.5.1 with the help of various plugins.
